Chad Hedrick was absolutely fantastic in this event! It was so much fun to see him win after openly breaking down in tears earlier before the event (he's usually very confident and cocky). Besides the
Gold for Team USA, my favorite moment came actually at the end when Fabris Enrico from Italy made a HUGE comeback in the last three laps to finish with Italy's first medal EVER in Speed Skating (any distance). It was really nice to see the underdog come back in such dramatic fashion.

I was a speed skater for fourteen years... Chad Hendrick was my idol since I barely knew how to skate.
Also had the pleasure of having Derek Parra come all the way to Australia to teach at our rink!
