taxi-cab confessions...
Ok, I have to start this one off by saying that I got into a major near-fatal car accident about a month and a half ago where I was in a coma for 9 hours and they had to pry the roof off to get me out and I was out for two weeks and yada yada yada...so the point is I have no car. Now, I work about 20 miles from home. So when I have to go to work at odd hours, I have to take a taxi. This past Sunday I called a taxi in the morning (around 8) and the driver was actually ASLEEP throughout the entire drive. I'm talking snoring and eyes half closed and head tilted back and all. He was swerving back and forth between lanes of traffic and only the honks from other cars kept him awake. I was almost late and I didn't want to complicate things by getting out and calling another cab. But it was very uncomfortable what with the whole him-almost-killing-both-of-us thing going on. Very strange indeed. So everyday this week I have to take a taxi to work...hopefully It'll be me that's more close to sleep instead of the driver but who knows! That's going to be lots of fun I'm sure, and speaking of which I have to go get some sleep soon if I even want to be up in time to make the call...
