what's in a name?

Right. So my tax accountant is a crackpot. He must be...he prepared my taxes and SOMEHOW he went through the entire process thinking my name is Roland. He prepared the paperwork for me as Roland. I've never met anyone named Roland in my life. I just got my tax refund and it's for some fella named "Roland". I suppose I should have learned when I was thrown in the middle of this crazy FBI investigation of one of the people that worked for him last year. I was, however, happy about my refund because it included [among other items]:
  • My week's paycheck donation to the American Red Cross's Katrina Fund last fall...
  • My yearly member dues for the American Film Institute...
  • Money that I spent travelling from store to store and job to job earlier last year...
  • My weekly union dues all refunded back to me!

Anywho I took it to the bank along with a couple of other checks written to "Ron" and "Ronald". I thought it was funny that I went to the bank to deposit three checks with different names on each one and they didn't ask me any questions. Strange how that works.

Speaking of banks I've always wanted to get an offshore bank account in the Caymans and a Swiss bank account where I'd always tranfers funds back and forth between the two just to confuse everyone...I wonder how easy that would be?

"Swiss banks are frequent locations for spy films like The Bourne Identity, and one held an item of great secrecy in the novel The Da Vinci Code"

Well, as long as you got the proper refunds back, there aren't any problems I guess.

but if your name was roland, you would have a book named after you. Which is a pretty good incentive to change your name.

this is true, but if I stick with 'Ronald' i get to have a national airport named after me, several libraries, and be a president of one of the superpowers of the world...tough decision...hmm...of course...when all else fails, google!

goggle for 'ronald': 172,000,000 results

google for 'roland': 112,000,000 results

oh well! changing my name seemed kind of exciting for a second.
