What I learned: Alfred Nobel actually created the Nobel Prize in 1895 as part of his will. He invented dynamite and some credit him with being the father of modern warefare (well...not really modern but what was modern back then). Alfred Nobel manufactured nitroglycerine and dynamite and became extremely weatlthy because of this and yet he considered himself a pacifist.
