passing the time watching weeds [grow] ...

The grass is always greener...
Yeah so I've started watching the Showtime show Weeds starring Mary-Louise Parker [she won a golden globe for her performance]. It's a pretty bold show but then again that's Showtime for you. Basically it's a show about a widow who lives in a picturesque suburban town with two kids. It's your average Desperate Housewives-type show. Oh wait, that's right...the widow is a pot dealer. Hence the title. Anywho it's a very addictive show and I'm starting to kinda like it. In fact I'm watching it right now. It's playing in the top right window of my laptop and I love it. Speaking of love I hate the week that I've had so far.
Yesturday was a particularly lousy day. I worked my normal 8hr shift and when I was leaving work I got a call on my cell phone and it was work calling me about a pretty huge problem involving some keys missing that should never be missing. So it was a big problem that they needed a manager to resolve so I had to go back and try to come up with a solution. It turns out that my solution involved using an electric power jack (for those of you not familiar with the receiving portion of my industry it's basically an electric forklift) to break an American Lock and a long pulley system chain. It took me a half hour and I was very worried that I would completely break the entire pulley because the power jack is an extremely powerful machine. I ended up staying at work for a total of 12 hours and I had intended on taking my little sister out for dinner as it was her 20th birthday. Oh well.

Hopefully The Palm Beach Story will play at AFI again this year...
Today I after work I met with my sister at AFI and we went on a special members only tour of the theatre hosted by the director /CEO. It was really wonderful to see all of the state-of-the-art technology that they had in the theatre and to see how they actually come up with the programs and decide what movies / film series they are going to run [too bad you missed it Matt]. The whole thing was very worthwhile and I really can't wait for the season to really get underway!
